Hydraulic Hammers

Hydraulic hammers, or hydraulic breakers, are powerful construction machines for breaking up concrete and other hard materials. They are frequently used on construction sites, quarries and demolition projects.

How they work

  • A hydraulic pump delivers high-pressure oil to a cylinder fitted with a piston, which drives the chisel or point.
  • Then, the oil is pumped into the cylinder.
  • When it forces the piston down, at that time, this chisel or point hits any broken material in front of it.

Hyd hammers are available in many sizes and styles, ranging from small handheld versions used for light demolition work to large machines mounted on excavators with which heavy-duty rock breaking can be done.

They are particularly suited for the rapid and powerful crushing of concrete and other hard materials, much faster and stronger than any hand tools.

Flexible Tools are Everything On-site

Flexibility is one of the most significant advantages of using a hyd hammer.

Applications range from breaking up concrete structures to crushing quarry rocks. And they're very proficient--enabling contractors to do the job quickly and minimise disruption for adjacent areas.

Besides being powerful and capable of much precise work, a hyd hammer is safety-oriented in design.

Safety devices include the automatic shut-off system, which prevents the hammer operation if it is not adequately fastened to the machine, and a feature reducing vibration makes the method of hardening safer for operators who previously might have suffered from fatigue or injury.

Where BOSS Comes In

We specialise in various construction and demolition applications.

Our hammers operate on the same basic principle as other hydraulic hammers, as explained above; however, we seek out the very best manufacturers to supply you with cutting-edge technology.

When you choose our hyd hammers, we will have the best products on hand with unique features. Let’s take a look at WHY.

Special Features

Here’s just a sampling of some of the most up-to-date technological features our hammer and breakers provide:

  • Extremely powerful and durable
  • Around 40% savings on operating costs
  • Nitrogen-fired operation
  • Anti-blank fire feature
  • Auto shut-off system
  • Anti-blank fire feature
  • Some models come with an Auto lube system available
  • Extensive range that suits all excavator types
  • Very extensive tool bit option range
  • Auto Grease Refiller
  • Environmental protection (Bio Lubricants)
  • Less fuel consumption produced per m3/ton
  • Our range of models is ideal for 8 to 150-ton excavators

Complex Machines Made Simple

As well as featuring a unique design, hammers are also made to be durable and easy to maintain. They are constructed of top-quality materials, and their simple modular design makes for easy disassembly and repair.

At Boss, we ensure the industry gets the best choice for construction and demolition professionals looking for high performance, reliability, and safety.

Combining patented technologies that are both durable and easy to maintain, these deliver more than their worth for any construction or demolition project.

Even if you have to rent a machine, this is money well spent anywhere as they get the job done faster, saving you time and money. That is why at Boss, we will know what machine is right for you.

Hydraulic Breakers

Hydraulic breakers, or hydraulic hammers as they are also called in our trade, employ source/target configuration principles to pulverise concrete and rock on building sites.

They are fixed to excavators or other heavy equipment and receive hydraulic power with which they deliver a decisive blow at the broken surface.

They enable the demolition of large structures or concrete surfaces to be carried out quickly and accurately, a significant saving in terms of both time and labour costs over jackhammers or explosives.

They are safer than explosives and can be used where noise or vibration must not occur.

Because hydraulic breakers are used in many construction projects, from building roads to demolition work on skyscrapers, they become handy additions to any crew's toolkit.

What's the Main Difference Between a Hyd Hammer and a Hyd Breaker?

This powerful attachment is one of the most commonly used pieces of equipment in mine work, demolition and building construction.

The terms hydraulic hammer or hydraulic breaker are often interchangeable when describing it and can be confusing to some outside the industry.

Essentially, people differentiate between the larger, more powerful ones and call them hydraulic hammers and the smaller versions, which go by the name of hydraulic breakers, whereby the breaker tends to be more agile and manoeuvrable due to the size difference.

A hydraulic hammer or breaker's particular properties and capacities are determined by its manufacturer, model number, and application purpose.

Consult us on which to choose. We have been in the business for many years and won’t let you down.
